Betty Rusthoven Obituary

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Rusthoven, age 75 of Flower Mound, Texas passed away November 26, 2022. She was surrounded by family and love. She was born June 16, 1947 to the late Henry and Ellen Weber in Chicago, Illinois where she grew up and graduated high school from The Academy of Our Lady. Betty married the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Rusthoven on September 17, 1966. Betty and Jerry shared an amazing love and raised 6 children together.
Professionally, Betty was a baker and cake decorator, managed a clothing store, owned and operated her own successful crochet and craft business, and was an office professional. The greatest job Betty ever had was Mom. She gave all to her family, spending countless hours for her kids as Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Cookie Mom, and ROTC Fund Raising Coordinator. She was a very outgoing, strong and supportive individual, always making friends everywhere she went. Betty and Jerry’s main goal in life was to dedicate everything to their children, and then grandchildren.
Betty loved throwing parties, playing Bunco, cards and fishing, but most of all she loved the holidays and going over the top with decorations. Betty and Jerry loved to travel, cruising when the kids were still in the house, and then cross-country trips. They loved to go to Disney World, Branson, Las Vegas, Pagosa Springs, Avon, San Antonio, and back to Chicago. They even made it to Paris. But the best place they ever were was together. Betty was a loving, caring and giving individual of her time, talents and opinions. She was also an animal lover and would rescue strays, volunteer at the local shelter and was known as ”The Duck Lady of Rose Lane” because of all the ducks she helped save when they were injured.
She will be deeply missed and loved forever.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Jerry Rusthoven; children: Jerry and wife Patty Rusthoven of Austin, Texas, Jeffery and wife Gobriel Rusthoven of Plano, Texas, Danielle Rusthoven and Greg Cagle of Ladonia, Texas, Marc and wife Meredith Rusthoven of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Brooke and husband Matt Nelson of Tucson, Arizona and Michael Rusthoven of Garland, Texas; nine grandchildren: Justin Rusthoven, Alicia Rusthoven, Liam Nolan, Channing Rusthoven, Ashton Rusthoven, Alyssa Nelson, Kira Cagle, Valentine Cagle and Juliana Cagle….And her puppy Noodles.
The family plans a celebration of her life in the near future.
