Bertha Ramirez Obituary

Bertha Marie (McCoy) Ramirez, age 71 of Seagoville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020. She was born in January of 1949 in Frankston, Texas to the late Oscar Leo and Blanch (Williams) McCoy. She grew up an East Texas country girl, later moving herself and her children to Dallas where she was a homemaker and held various jobs over the years including with Numos, where she “shot locks” for bank bags and was also a long-time housekeeper for Motel 6. She met Juan Ramirez in Pleasant Grove and were later married in Rockwall, Texas on May 15, 1979. Together they moved to Seagoville in 1997. Bertha was funny and loved to make others laugh, as well as cook and play with her beloved dogs. Her generosity to others and her love for being with her family at home or in the yard with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren is remembered by her whole family. She is missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Alvis Ray McCoy and Kenneth Ray McCoy; two infant siblings; son-in-law Jeff Merrifield and son-in-law John Raymond Stephens.

She is survived by her husband Juan Ramirez of Seagoville; children: Judith and husband Dan Locklin of Seagoville, Pamela Juanita Merrifield of Eustace, Billy Wayne Reynolds and Debbie Russell of Seven Points, Elizabeth Stephens of Seagoville, Henry Lee and wife Rhonda Reynolds of Mt. Vernon, Nina Moreno of Dallas, David Briones of Dallas and Rosalba Briones of Seagoville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
