Benson E. Webb

Benson Earl Webb, age 74 of Ferris, Texas passed away October 27, 2023. He was born October 1, 1949 to Benson Mearl and Zola Virginia (Williams) Webb in Dallas, Texas. His parents and two sisters, whom he was always protective and looked out for, lived in West Dallas, later moving to Ferris when he was in junior high, graduating in the class of 1968. He served in the Police Reserves and later as a Ferris Police Officer. He met and later married the love of his life Sheryl Wilson in 1975; to this union was born three beautiful daughters. During this time, he and wife Sheryl bought a home, in which he remained until the end. He and Sheryl loved bowling tournaments and Benson also began working in hydraulics as a machinist, until and even beyond his retirement. He was a reserved and quiet individual, until after Sheryl‘s passing. He began opening up and became a more independent individual. He loved fishing and the lake life on Lake Tawakani, riding his motorcycle as often as he could. He is remembered for his wonderful breakfast, especially his perfectly fried eggs. He was an efficient individual, always putting his tools back the way they were and encouraging others to do the same. He was a hard-working man, providing for his family and was extremely faithful to his job in all weather. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Benson Mearl and Zola Virginia Webb; and wife Sheryl Webb.

He has survived by his loving daughters: Elizabeth and husband Rojelio “Beth and Roger” Garcia of Waxahachie, Texas, Crystal Skates of Ferris, Texas and Joni Webb of Ferris, Texas; grandchildren: Brook Garcia, Jacob Garcia, Matthew Garcia, Lorenzo Garcia, Marisa Garcia, Rendon Garcia, Kayla Skates, Patricia Skates, and J’Lynn Atchley; eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Patsy Webb Butler of Corsicana, Texas and Nita Webb Fagan of Ferris, Texas; his nieces, nephews and other extended family members; as well as a host of foreign exchange students from Germany and Brazil.

A Celebration of Life will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, November 10, 2023 at Green Funeral Home Ferris, Texas.
