Barbara Alyene (Chriss) Jones

Barbara Alyene Jones, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on August 27, 1940, Barbara was a woman who had a deep love for life, her family, and the world around her.

Barbara’s career as a hairstylist spanned 45 years, and she was known for her warmth, skill, and the personal touch she brought to her work. After years in the salon, Barbara shifted her focus to helping home-bound clients, ensuring that those who couldn’t make it to the shop still felt cared for and beautiful. Her kindness, patience, and dedication made her a beloved figure to all she served.

Outside of her work, Barbara was a true nature lover, with a special fondness for the outdoors. She enjoyed traveling in her RV, with the mountains being one of her favorite places to visit. Family holidays were always a cherished time, filled with love, laughter, and a sense of togetherness that she treasured deeply. Barbara found joy in the little things—like the sight of doves and hummingbirds in the yard, or the peaceful hum of honeybees going about their work. Her connection to the natural world was simple yet profound.

Barbara was also a true animal lover. Her home was always filled with the company of her dogs and cats, and she adored every one of them. Her love for animals was just another reflection of her kind heart—always giving, always caring, always putting others first.

Above all, Barbara was known for her selflessness. She took care of everyone, even when it meant putting her own needs aside. Her family meant everything to her, and her love and loyalty were unwavering. She had a rare and beautiful soul, one that was kind to all and always willing to lend a hand or offer a listening ear.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Lea Murphy and husband Clint; her sister, Johnita Miller; her grandchildren: Christy Mayo and husband Daniel, Charles Cullum and wife Katherine, and Jacob Murphy; and her great-grandchildren: Caroline, Teegan, and Colten.
