Barbara Gayle (Sessions) Beasley, age 76 of Ferris, Texas passed away on March 18, 2025 in Columbus, Tennessee. Barbara was born on November 16, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas to Martin Jack Sessions and Stella Scroggins. She graduated from McKinney High School, Class of 1967. After high school Barbara worked a variety of jobs before beginning a clerical position with State Farm Insurance. In time, she married and began her family, moving to Ferris, Texas where she put down roots and raised her family. In Ferris, she worked in several roles at the local newspaper—then known as the Ferris Wheel, now the Ellis County Press. Barbara also attended beauty school and opened a small beauty shop in her home, where she offered hairdressing services to the community for many years, even giving haircuts to those in need at the local bar in Ferris. She never truly retired from hairdressing, she often visited others’ homes to style their hair. Barbara had a giving heart and was known for her generous spirit, always willing to lend her time and resources to anyone who needed them—no questions asked. She had a deep love for animals and was known to stop on the side of the road to feed stray cats and dogs, always keeping food and water in her car. Later in life, she even installed a cat door in her home, welcoming not just cats but even the occasional raccoon or two. She was friendly, outgoing, and never had a mean word for anyone. Barbara avoided conflict and valued kindness above all. She loved going to the movies and spending time with friends and attended the Lonestar Cowboy Church of Red Oak, Texas for many years. Above all, she was a loving and devoted mother. Barbara dedicated her life to raising her son Brad with boundless love, energy, and support. Whether playing hide and seek, tossing a football, or just being present, she made sure Brad always knew he was her world. She will be remembered for her kindness, her nurturing spirit, and the countless lives—human and animal—that she touched along the way.
