A message from Heather and Hannah:

When I think of Mee Maw I think of what a sweet, caring, crazy, fun, crafty and loving lady she was. I reflect back to all the good times at the Harper’s Ferry house, river, The Villages, beach and Texas. Mee Maw was always the life of the party or gathering by always smiling, laughing, dancing and/or singing. She knew how to brighten everyone’s day, but could show her sensitive side too by crying at the drop of a hat whether it was something silly or serious, but then go right back to smiling, laughing and carrying on. I will forever remember her love and obsession of pictures, candles, purple, baby powder, bubble baths, jewelry and of course martini’s with extra olives! I’m so thankful for all the time and memories I did get to have with Mee Maw and will cherish them forever! I’m glad she lived the long fulfilling life she did and will always carry a piece of her with me! God bless and rest peacefully her special sweet soul and may she reunite with Pop Pop and other loved ones at Heaven’s pearly gates. Until we meet again Mee Maw…Love always and forever, Heather

Her name was Anne Harper, but to many she was known as MeeMaw, and to all she was unforgettable. From her family and friends to the people of Arabella Senior Living, the state of Florida, every martini and shrimp cocktail server, and even the staff at T.J. Maxx, she left a mark everywhere she went. To me, one of her granddaughters, she was more than someone special—she was, and always will be, my best friend, my girl. Because of MeeMaw, I carry sparkle in my veins. There was never a moment we weren’t dressed in pearls or sequins, getting ready with rollers in our hair with far too much hairspray. We laughed until our stomachs ached, tanned without limits, sang until our voices were gone, and danced until one of us couldn’t get back up off the ground. Some of my favorite memories with MeeMaw are the long car rides filled with ’70s hits. We would skip past every song until we landed on Al Green—though somehow, we always circled back to “My Girl” by The Temptations, playing it over and over until it became our song. We danced, sang, and boogied to it every chance we got. Back then, the words “I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day” were simply lyrics we sang in the happiness of the moment. Now, those words carry a deeper meaning: that even on the cloudiest days since losing her, and with the comfort of knowing she is with our gracious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I still have sunshine on a cloudy day—because of her, my girl. I love you to the moon and back MeeMaw.

-       Love, Hannah

Anne was the oldest of her siblings, preceded in death by sister Yvonne Fasulo, and still living, sister Mary Sue Johnson, husband Larry, and Melissa Hedgepeth, husband Harry.

We will gather for a “Celebration of Life” to honor mom with everything she loved, good friends, family, dancing, and of course music.
