Alma Lucia Hernandez Mendez

Alma Lucía Hernández Méndez de 36 años de Lancaster, Texas, falleció el 19 de junio de 2022. Nació el 13 de febrero de 1986 en Zacatecas, México, hija de Álvaro Hernández Morales y Lucía Méndez García. En 2003 conoció al amor de su vida José Carlos Méndez Chávez, se casaron en noviembre de 2003 y se mudaron a Estados Unidos en 2004. Deseaba mucho ser madre y después de años de dificultad y varios procedimientos, fueron bendecidos con cuatro hijos. A veces una persona tímida y tranquila, siempre fue amorosa y nunca tuvo algo malo que decir sobre nadie. Siempre tenía una sonrisa y le encantaba compartir una risa. Ella siempre estaba en el momento, amando la vida, divirtiéndose y siempre era una alegría estar cerca. Pasó mucho tiempo buscando formas de divertirse y planeando vacaciones en nuevos lugares para que su familia experimentara. Siempre ha animado a sus hijos a ser buenos y estudiar y a viajar por el mundo ya que no podía, quería que pudieran viajar por ella. Siempre quiso llevar a sus hijos a México para ver dónde ella y José se conocieron y crecieron. Su lugar favorito para estar era en la playa con su amorosa familia. También le encantaba escuchar música y bailar y vestirse y maquillarse, eligiendo su ropa para que coincidiera con su maquillaje y combinando a su familia con ella también. Ella siempre hizo todo lo posible para mantener a sus hijos lo que pedían, siempre trató de dárselo. Escribió canciones para cada uno de sus hijos y muchas veces cuando la familia estaba junta, cantó todas sus canciones. Su voluntad de ser madre la ayudó a encontrar fuerza en su lucha por el cáncer, dejando de lado el tratamiento para tener a sus hijos. Ella siempre fue fiel a la iglesia y acepto la voluntad de Dios sin culpa. Será extrañada por todos los que la conocieron.

Le sobreviven su esposo José Carlos Méndez Chávez; sus cuatro hijos: Evelyn, Uriel, Samara y Ángel; padres: Álvaro Hernández Morales y Lucía Méndez García; hermano Álvaro Hernández, hermana Leticia Hernández, hermana Adriana Hernández y hermano Leonardo Hernández; numerosas sobrinas, sobrinos y otros miembros de la familia extendida y queridos amigos

Alma Lucia Hernandez Mendez age 36 of Lancaster, Texas passed away June 19, 2022. She was born February 13, 1986 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Alvaro Hernandez Morales and Lucía Mendez Garcia. In 2003 she met the love of her life Jose Carlos Mendez Chavez, they were married in November of 2003 and moved to the United States in 2004. She desired very much to be a mother and after years of difficulty and several procedures, they were blessed with four children. Sometimes a timid, shy and quiet individual she was always loving and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She always had a smile and loved to share a laugh. She was always in the moment, loving life, having fun and was always a joy to be around. She spent lots of time looking for ways to have fun and planning vacations to new places for her family to experience. She has always encouraged her children to be good and study and to travel the world since she couldn’t, she wanted them to be able to travel for her. She always thought about taking her kids to Mexico to see where she and Jose met and grew up. Her favorite place to be was on the beach with her loving family. She also loved to listen to music and dance and to dress up and do her makeup, choosing her clothing to match her makeup and matching her family to her as well. She always did her best to provide for her children whatever they asked for, she always tried to give them. She wrote songs for each of her children and many times when the family was all together, she sang all of their songs. Her will to be a mother helped her find strength in her fight for cancer, putting aside treatment to have her children. She was always faithful to church and accepted God’s will without blame. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by husband Jose Carlos Mendez Chavez; her four children: Evelyn, Uriel, Samara and Angel; parents: Alvaro Hernandez Morales and Lucía Méndez Garcia; brother Alvaro Hernandez, sister Leticia Hernandez, sister Adriana Hernandez and brother Leonardo Hernandez; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 9:00 pM with Rosary at 8:00 PM Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Green Funeral Home Red Oak, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 24, 2022 at Corpus Christi Catholic Parish Ferris, Texas

Interment to follow at Edgewood Cemetery Lancaster, Texas.
