Myrtle Sparkman Obituary

Myrtle Faye Sparkman, age 88, was called to Heaven to rejoin her beloved husband, Jack, and other family members on March 18, 2019. She was born in Bristol, Texas along with her twin brother, Johnny Ray, on January 10, 1931 to parents William A. and Elizabeth Gracie Andrews. Other than a few years spent in Dallas, Kansas, and Mississippi, Myrtle Faye lived her life in Bristol surrounded by family and friends.

Myrtle Faye was an excellent homemaker who loved preparing large meals for her family and entertaining guests. She was known for her needlework, and her hand-stitched quilts are cherished by all who have them. Myrtle Faye loved her family, all four generations of them, and was such an inspiration and role model to all who came after her. She was an active volunteer for various community, church, and school groups including being a Girl Scout leader for both daughters, PTA officer, Room Mother, and Sunday School teacher. Myrtle Faye was a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Later in her life, Myrtle Faye worked at the USDA, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Services office in Waxahachie. There she helped Ellis Country farmers and ranchers with federal program assistance and built strong relationships with them because of her caring nature.

Jack and Myrtle Faye enjoyed traveling and were always up for adventures. Myrtle Faye instilled her love of travel in her daughters and their families.

In 1994, Myrtle Faye was a recipient of a new heart, which added almost another quarter century of living and loving to her life. This gift allowed new generations of her family to experience the magic of Grandma’s love and devotion.

Myrtle Faye is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Jack, her brothers, Johnny Ray Andrews and Ronald Whitford, sister, Linda Howard, and her great grandson, Jack Savell.

Myrtle Faye is survived by her daughters, Shirley Fulton and husband, Billy Tom, of Bristol, and Jackie Savell and husband, Jeff, of College Station. Grandchildren include Michele Andrews and husband, Don, of Bristol, Scott Fulton and wife, Shannon, of Bristol, Jennifer Larriviere and husband, Thomas, of McKinney, Jeffrey Savell of Fort Worth, and Jonathan Savell and wife, Kaci, of Benbrook. Great grandchildren include Christal Meeks and husband, Jason, of Bristol, Zac Beauchamp and wife, Lupee, of Bristol, Chance Fulton and wife, Ericka, of Fishers, Indiana, Chase Fulton of Canyon, Jackson Larriviere and Lauren Larriviere of McKinney, and Kate Savell of Benbrook. Great great grandchildren include Easton Honza, Jax Beauchamp, Bristol Beauchamp, Lexye Meeks, and Kade Meeks, all of Bristol.

Surviving brothers include Billy Whitford and wife, Linda, of Bristol and Larry Childress of Dallas, brothers-in-law, Eldon Sparkman and wife, Peggy, of Bristol and Wendell Howard, of Waxahachie, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
