Jose "JoeMoe" A. Garza, age 74 of Ferris, Texas, passed away October 7, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in March of 1945 to the late Placido and Celina (Hinojosa) Garza in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, moving on to Ferris when he was 8 years old. As a truck driver, he was known on the radio by his handle, "The Lone Wolf". He traveled all over the U.S. and drove his family on vacations as they explored the many different landscapes of the Country. JoeMoe loved working with his hands making models, painting and creating other wood craft projects. Growing up in a musical family, he and his brothers loved to play music in their garage. He is remembered for being good with words and writing songs and singing them for his family. Joe's adoring grandchildren will miss the tickles and total interaction he gave them. The Dallas Cowboys will miss a truly dedicated fan. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and five brothers: Arcadio Garza, Sr., Santiago Garza, Sr., Luis Garza, Placido Garza, Jr. and Noe Garza, Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife Maria Esperanza (Romero) Garza; Children: Angelina Garza Grady and husband Don of Ferris, Maggie Trevino of Ferris, Jose Garza, Jr. of Wilmer, John David Garza of Ferris, JoManda Arechiga and husband Ruben of Waxahachie, Joe and wife Crystal Orta of Ferris, Carolina and husband Mauro Montoya of Ferris, Angelica and husband Daniel Garcia of Red Oak, Maria and husband Uriel Ramirez of Ferris, Claudia Gonzales of Wilmer; sister Delia Garza of Waxahachie; 26 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be 6-9 PM with Rosary at 7 PM on Friday, October 11, 2019 in the Dome at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Ferris.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 4 PM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Father Jimwell Goyo Officiating.
