John White, Jr. Obituary

John Ernest White, Jr., passed away on April 4, 2024, in Red Oak, Texas, at the age of 73. Born on October 27, 1950, in Warsaw, New York, he was the beloved son of John Ernest White Sr., and Edna Mae Potter. John's early years were shaped in his father's junkyard, instilling in him a strong work ethic from a young age, showing in his loyalty and commitment to his career throughout his life. Johns’ passion for cars and making them run and race developed early in his teens, and he spent most weekends at the Holland & Perry Speedway in New York until he relocated to Houston Texas with his first wife and two children. He enjoyed speaking in detail about the verses and lessons in the Bible, and his faith.  John had a second chance when he found love and companionship in Cheryle DiGiacomo and embraced her children as his own. Together with Cheryle, they relocated to Dallas, where John was able to continue his career as a diesel mechanic with the same company. In 2005, John established JW Diesel Service, pouring his heart and soul into building the business. His dedication and hard work paved the way for a successful career, culminating in his well-deserved retirement in December of 2023. John was known for his unique blend of humor and seriousness. He possessed an intuitive nature, often sizing people up across the room, yet his heart overflowed with love for his family and friends. Racing cars was a lifelong passion of his. He shared that passion with his son Jonthan, creating cherished memories together on the track. As a grandfather, John was unparalleled in his devotion to his youngest grandchildren. He delighted in spoiling his grandchildren, whether it was picking them up from school for an adventure or cheering them on at their sports games. He imparted valuable lessons on character, ensuring each grandchild grew stronger and wiser under his guidance. John will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering integrity will continue to inspire generations to come. If you knew John well, you would always think of him fondly when you think of ice cream.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Edna White, Sr.; and wife Cheryl DiGiacomo.
He is survived by his children: Lyle and wife Shannon White of New York, Cyndee and husband Shannon Foss of New York, Jason and wife Jennifer Carey of Kenmore, New York, Bryan and wife Nicole Carey of Kenmore, New York, and Jonathon and wife Christian White of Red Oak, Texas; numerous grandchildren, including the two youngest that he was honored and enthusiastic to participate in their daily lives; Peightyn and Grayson White; great-grandchildren; and a sister Judy of Buffalo, New York.
